Summary: Agenda works entirely locally on your device. We do not collect any personal data or send it to any external server. Your data belongs to you alone.
1. Introduction
At Agenda, we take your privacy seriously. This privacy policy explains how the Agenda app ("the App") handles your data and information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data Stored by the App
The App stores the following data locally only on your device:
- Appointments: Title, description, date and time, location, category, priority, notes, completion status.
- Custom Categories: Names and colors of categories you create.
- Templates: Saved appointment templates for reuse.
- Settings: Your preferences such as theme, display language, notification settings, and PIN (if enabled).
3. Data We Do Not Collect
We confirm that we do not collect, send, or share any of the following data:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Device or advertising identifiers
- Usage logs or analytics
- Content of your appointments or notes
- Any data to external servers
4. Local Storage
All your data is stored locally in an encrypted database on your device using Android Jetpack's Room Database technology. No data is transmitted over the internet.
5. Backup & Restore
The App provides backup and restore functionality:
- Regular Backup: Export your data as a JSON file saved on your device.
- Encrypted Backup: Export your data with encryption using a password you choose.
- Backup files remain on your device only unless you choose to share them.
6. Security
The App provides multiple layers of security:
- App Lock: Protection with a 4-digit PIN.
- Biometric Authentication: Fingerprint and face recognition support.
- Private Appointments: Ability to mark appointments as private so their details are hidden in notifications.
- Backup Encryption: Protect backup files with a password.
7. Required Permissions
The App requests the following permissions only for functional purposes:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send appointment reminders and daily summaries.
- Exact Alarm (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, USE_EXACT_ALARM): To schedule precise appointment reminders at the exact specified time.
- Vibrate (VIBRATE): For vibration feedback on reminders.
- Boot Completed (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To reschedule reminders after device restart.
- Biometric (USE_BIOMETRIC): To enable fingerprint and face recognition app lock.
- Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Used by the WorkManager library to ensure background tasks like daily summaries complete reliably.
- Internet & Network State (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required by Google Play Billing for in-app purchase verification. No personal data is transmitted.
- Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): Required by the Tasker Plugin Library to execute automation actions and query conditions in real time. These services run briefly and stop automatically.
- Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): For in-app purchase functionality through Google Play.
- Battery Optimization (REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS): To ensure appointment reminders are delivered on time without being delayed by battery saving.
The App does not request location, contacts, camera, or advertising permissions. Internet access is used solely for Google Play Billing verification and no personal data is collected or transmitted.
8. Tasker Integration
The App integrates with the Tasker automation app using the Tasker Plugin Library. This library requires foreground service permissions to execute automation actions (such as creating, updating, and deleting appointments) and to query appointment states (such as checking for current or overdue appointments). All data exchanged between Agenda and Tasker remains on your device and is not sent to any external server.
9. Widgets
The App provides 4 home screen widgets (Today's Appointments, Week's Appointments, Countdown, Quick Add). All of them read data locally from the database on your device.
10. PDF Export
When exporting your appointments as a PDF file, the file is generated locally on your device. No data is uploaded to external servers during the export process.
11. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
12. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
